Points and influence
You have a point total associated with your account. When a field that you submitted is approved, you gain points. You lose points when a field you submit is rejected. Additionally, you gain points when a field you vote for is approved or a field you vote against is rejected. Likewise, you lose points when a field you vote for is rejected or a field you vote against is approved.
You also have an influence value. The users with the most points have five points of influence. Users with fewer points have lower influence values.
Confirming and denying fields
You can view the list of pending submissions at any time. After you select a submission to view, you will be presented with a list of fields that make up the submission.
Each field has a checkbox and a current influence total (e.g., "+5" or "-7") to its left. If the total reaches "-10", the field is rejected. The field will be approved if the total reaches "+10" and either the field is a title or a title field has been previously approved.
You can vote to confirm or deny a field by checking the box to the left of the field and clicking the appropriate button at the bottom of the page. The influence total for that field will be increased or decreased by an amount equal to your influence value. For example, the field previously had an influence total of "+5" and your influence value is "3", clicking on the "Deny" button will lower the influence total to "+2".
