Rumor: MS to release Halo 3 at PS3 launch?

IGN is reporting a rumor that Microsoft will release Halo 3 on PS3 launch day in order to steal Sony's thunder:

This could be a pretty effective way of using Microsoft's large head start to counter the PlayStation brand name.
